Wow! It has been a while. On Thanksgiving I got a call from one of my favorite clients. Her niece is from out of town and was getting married the following Friday in Idaho Falls. She didn't have a photographer... Why yes I would love to.... and here are some of the results!

Sadie wanted her wedding pictures taken in the fall leaves rather than in front of a back drop in a church with a gym floor. We went into the mountains and got some really good shots. This is one that stood out at me as I am editing them.

I love to take these girls pictures. I smiled when I walked in and saw their dresses! They are from the same little boutique I had mentioned during a previous family post, LondyLouBoutique. This is my 4th year taking their pictures and I love watching them grow up. Especially the little one. She wouldn't even talk to me before this year and this time she rode in my car with me to the location (and mentioned how much noise it makes:)). My Own Little Family!

Of all the people in the world.... these are the ones I love the MOST!!!!!! My Mother-in-Law wanted pictures of her and the kids for her birthday, but I couldn't resist having some taken of the whole family while we had the kids all dressed up, so I had my brother-in-law snap a few. We did ruin our clothes from the tar in the road, but these pictures are worth it.

These little kids are the cutest things ever and this picture captures their personality.

This little guy keeps us laughing and on our toes. He loves the cats and his boots. He will be 2 on Friday and I can't believe it!

She is our little princess. She loves dance and to dress up. I can't believe she is almost 5! Wow!

Mom's BIG helper. He just turned 7 and loves to feel needed. He will help me with anything and enjoys taking care of his little brother, and pestering his sister:) What are big brothers for?

Hailey was so fun. She endured more than she asked for, but did everything I asked with a smile. When I asked what she wanted to do with her life she said she wanted to be a pediatric neurosurgeon. Wow! She is ambitious!

This was such a fun shoot. She is graduating from ISU and he is graduating from Century. A little mother son duo for ya. I am so proud of her for getting her degree. Trust me when I say, "I know how hard it can be." We started in the alley to avoid the wind, but couldn't resist the columns on the top of Red Hill. We hiked up in our heels and with the lighting equipment, and against the wind. Fortunately for the women we only had to hike it once. He had to go back for some forgotten keys, haha. All for a memory right!

Kyra is one of my favorite people to photograph. It was 8 degrees when we took these and you wouldn't even know neither of us could feel our fingers, toes, nose, ears, etc. We laughed the whole time and just had fun. With this cold weather and myself being an on sight photographer it had been a while for me (other than my own kids of course). Cold or not we wanted winter pictures on a white blanket of snow!!!

This family is so fun. Little A finally likes me enough to smile at the camera and look at Buck's eyes! I know they are making you smile. I traded this one for a ton of babysitting. I really think I got the better end of this deal, but one day while my kids were there.... Amelia kept calling Buck- "Butt"! She would say, "Hi, cute little Butt!" or "Butt likes me!" They thought it was so funny they never corrected her. Oh well. That is one to go down in the memory book for sure! Thanks S for helping me out when I needed it oh so badly!

Engagements are one of my favorite occassions to photograph. You can truly capture emotion, and this session did not let me down. I was so excited to edit them that I had to discipline myself to get everything else done first. We went to some water, an old building, and a train track. It was so much fun! The only time Cody and I could work our schedules out was the middle of a Saturday. All photographers know 2:00 pm is not prime sunlight, but it was all we could do. The poor guy couldn't stop squinting. We decided it is just a Cody thing! He was a trooper. I kept saying, just one more place. They were pretty fun! He is a HUGE baseball fan, so of course we took some at the field!

I have been wanting to take some good pictures of my kids since I bought my lighting. These were all taken in a matter of about 10 minutes. It was right when we should have been eating dinner and so I hurried. The individuals are a little too bright, but for the amount of time I spent, and the time of day it was.... I am happy! Most photographers would agree that their own kids can be the hardest to photograph. These little turkeys are no exception. I love them so much anyway:)

I always think it is sad to see a soldier leave. Before this father, husband, son, brother left we captured a family picture. All soldiers need to be thanked and be told how much we appreciate their efforts. They don't get to choose the circumstances under which they fight, but they did choose to fight for what our country stands for. Thank you soldiers!

Angela leaves in just 2 days!!! She is headed out of the country Spanish speaking and has been counting down from the day she got her call. Her mom wanted some good pictures for each of the grandchildren to have so they can have a visual to remember Aunt Angela from. We were quick and took just a few pictures, but they turned out cute!

I love taking pictures of this family. They always let me try something new and go along with what ever I have in mind. As you scroll down you will see the straw bale. Such a cute idea (I know huh!), but it was a mess. The boys LOVED picking at it and throwing handfuls of straw everywhere. With the breeze we were all rubbing our eyes to get them cleaned out. We didn't do much there, but the ones we got were as cute as I pictured them. The train car however... eat your little heart out because they were AWESOME!!!! Enjoy these, and call me to book yours!

Money Baby is 4 Months Old

My sweet little nephew is now 4 months old so we tried to squeeze a little shoot in while I was in Utah for Lily's (she is being born right NOW! I will be taking her baby pics this weekend, can't wait) bridal shower. We were only half way done when he fell asleep, so I will finish them this coming weekend! My favorite part about this shoot is that my neice Erin loves photography too and so I left her in the room playing around with my camera and she is the one who took the top two pictures! Yeah Erin!

I have been working really hard on be able to use my lighting quickly and effectively. I used it on this shoot and was SOOOOO happy with how they turned out. My Own Little Ones!

I recieved my new lighting the other day and although my portable power is on back order I pulled it out and used an extension chord in the front yard. My sweet little girl is all about not combing her hair, changing clothes every five minutes, and being SASSY! I thought she would make the perfect model for me. Plus this is a stage of life I really need to capture. Enjoy, she is hillarious.

Easton needed to participate, so he set up this awesome pose. My favorite was seeing them interact. I love their relationship right now.

My sweet niece turned 13 this last weekend so we took some pictures of her and her birthday present. His name is Yankee, although I think he looks like one of the 7 dwarfs. Lighting Workshop

This was such a fun workshop. I was able to learn so much, not only from Ali, but from watching and talking with all of the other photographers. It is amazing how much I learned. Reflections

I have been doing a lot of reflecting lately about why and how I ever got into photography. I originally bought my camera to help save on all the pictures I had taken of my kids and to find a way to help support our family as a stay at home mom. Well I was never able to stay home, and I work full time. I have enjoyed the experience I have had taking others pictures, but now I rarely have time to take my kids pictures or take my time with my photography. The last couple of days I have done just that. I sat in the grass while my baby played, then I dressed up my little girl in her pinkalicious dance costume and took her pictures. Tomorrow I plan to add Easton to the mix and take their pictures in some SUPER CUTE 4th of July outfits I bought them. I have so enjoyed the last couple of days, and can't wait until next week when I get to go to a Rock that OCF workshop with Ali Hohn. Now I remember why I love what I do.

Once again, I just CAN'T get enough of her. She always makes me feel like I am good at posing people, but really she does it all. I love taking her pictures. Sorry Amber that it took me so long, I have not had internet for a week (arghh, I would rather loose my left arm), and I have been soooo busy. Hope you like them:)

What a fun family. I went up to take pictures at one of the daughter's wedding, and while I was there I took a few family pictures for them. They did amazing with the amount of little ones there were. Thanks for letting me get to know your family Kathy. They are all wonderful!

I was reading about how to get a silhouette in the middle of the day and so when I had the chance I tried it. Brian thought I was a little strange, I believe, but it still turned out awesome if I do say so myself. I make him put his arms up so I would have more shape to my picture. He was G-R-E-A-T for putting up with my fun.

This sweet girl is getting baptized and because she was born in the winter her mom calls her a snow princess. Where better to take her pictures than the snow? She was so brave in those sandals and cold snow. I think her pictures turned out amazing! You can't even tell she was shivering. So Brave!

A Girl & Her Violin- Senior Pictures

Here is beautiful Krysten. I wanted to take her pictures in the snow, and asked her to bring along her violin. They turned out amazing if I do say so myself. We had fun taking her pictures and plan to do more in the spring.
